Vimeo (www.vimeo.com)

Tweets, photos and blog posts are ok, but if you really want to inspire people with your expedition, you need video. Most people are familiar with video sharing site Youtube.com, and Vimeo is a very similar idea, but with a few differences that we think makes it better for you.

Unlike Youtube, Vimeo specialises in outputting high quality video by default. We feel that if you are producing videos of beautiful landscapes with vivid colours, you don't want the impact of watching them to be deminished by grainy video quality or stuttering sound. Vimeo is built by video makers, for video makers, and it does everything possible to make your footage look great!

Vimeo and Expeditions

EteLive.org incorporates your Vimeo video feed, and automatically shows all of the videos uploaded to your Vimeo account. If you want to add a new video, just upload it to Vimeo and it will appear on your expedition profile page for everyone to view and enjoy.

Using Vimeo on Education Through Expeditions

We have made integrating Vimeo with EteLive.org as easy as possible, all you need is the user ID for your Vimeo account:

1. Navigate to your expedition's Vimeo page and look at the address bar. Your user ID is the everything after the forward slash. Select this with your mouse and copy it.

2. Go to your expedition management page in the EteLive.org admin area and look for the Video box.

3. Click Submit to save.
